The Great Market Hall in Budapest is one of the city’s most distinctive sights. Built in 1897, the historic building is still in use as a lively marketplace, visited by thousands of residents and tourists every day. To ensure the safety of the visitors, vendors and market stalls, as well as protect the building’s structure, Honeywell installed an advanced fire detection solution during recent electrical renovations.

Historic buildings are a challenging environment that requires careful installations and a high-performance solution in order to maintain its unique characteristics while ensuring accurate smoke detection and preventing false alarms.

By incorporating Fire Alarm Aspiration Sensing Technology® (FAAST) and fire, smoke and heat detectors from the IQ8Quad product series, all managed by a FlexES Control Panel, Honeywell successfully contributed to the refurbishment and preservation of the Great Market Hall.
