The revised FCTs (Fire Control Transponder) offer better functionality as well as easier installation and handling. The compact IQ8FCT XS, made for simple hat rail mounting or with optional single and multi-wall housings. It’s optimally designed for the control and monitoring of fire dampers or other fire control equipment like rolling gates and barriers up to 30V AC/DC. Quickly installed, connected and taken in operation. The all-rounder IQ8FCT LP within a robust IP65 housing and switching performance up to 16A allows the control and monitoring of a big variety of external devices, especially Fire dampers up to 230V AC. It comes with an easy wire entering through silicon cable inlets and makes the connecting of switching voltage and external device a piece of cake. Furthermore it offers a manual switching of the output relay directly at the transponder for a quick test of the connected Fire damper while installation and maintenance. Alike to former versions, up to 127 pieces of the new IQ8FCT XS or IQ8FCT LP will be manageable at one esserbus ring. Hereby the esserbus provides the operation, monitoring and supply of the transponders from the ESSER by Honeywell control panels. This ensures a very high reliability. With the integrated FAIL save function the position of the damper in case of loop interruption can be selected in configuration related to the needs. To make the monitoring perfect the run-time of connected devices is easy programmable and the correct position e.g. of a fire damper will be secured via the end switches. A deviation to the wanted position (e.g. at power fail or stuck of the fire control equipment) will be immediately indicated by LEDs at the transponder and the ESSER by Honeywell control panel. In addition all fire control scenarios at the panel will be programmed via the Software Tools8000 and each transponder respective the connected device can individually be switched to a case related position. Here the new FCTs are completely compatible to the current variants which allows also a mixed operation and brings the advantages of the new FCTs to bear immediately e.g. at extensions. Of course both new FCT-variants are certified to EN 54-17 and EN 54-18 to fulfill all requirements to be used in Fire detection and control system in Europe. There will be a transition time to serve open projects still with the former FCT versions.
