ATEX Approval for detectors IQ8Quad Ex (i)

The detector range IQ8Quad is now certified for operation in explosion prone areas.

The detector range IQ8Quad is now certified for operation in explosion prone areas. Theautomatic detectors of series IQ8Quad Ex (i) fulfill the requirements of the European ATEXStandard and can be operated in the zone 1 areas up to explosive class IIC T4, according toequipment category 2G.

The detectors without loop isolator as stated below are now available for operation inexplosion prone areas:

803271.EX Rate-of-rise heat detector IQ8Quad Ex(i)
803371.EX Optical smoke detector IQ8Quad Ex(i)
803374.EX O2T multisensor detector IQ8Quad Ex(i)

Together with the IQ8Quad standard detector base and incl. ex safety barrier (764744) thesedetectors can be connected to FACPs 800x / IQ8Control via the standard detector group ofthe esserbus transponder (808613.20).

In this operation, the detectors of series 9100 Ex (i), which were phased out December 2008,can be replaced with the new IQ8Quad Ex (i) detectors.
